got a violent 18 yr old son i need advice. he’s doing phenomenally well at college and starting a foundation at uni this sept. i have mentored him given him direction and supported him as a single self employed mother. however lately he randomly kicks off big time. Screams at me. insults me. thumps me, throws things violently against the wall. threw a fork hardcore out of a door way tday of which i was literally right round the corner of. thank God i didn’t go through the door way and get it in my face. he will kick off for minor reasons. He blames me for his abusive behavior, a classic sign of an Abuser. he’s exemplary to other people outside the house but indoors he’s a total git to me on random occasions. He finds fault with all i do and all i dont do. in his teenage opinion he’s got more potential than me, has better friends, more friends, and better contacts. I cannot live with his scary random behavior wondering when will he kick off next and what things will he trash and throw around the house and will i get hurt during his rage. He said he cant afford accommodation until one year’s time and when he starts a BA at uni and gets a grant. He said the foundation is 5 days a week and cant work and he will have no money for rent. Does anyone know if he is eligible for any assistance re rent and living expenses asa student? I cant take his manic abusive behavior anymore. he refuses to go live with his father. i cant see a way out of this because i cannot discuss the issue rationally with my son, he seems to go into bizarre Rage Mode and cant rationalize. he says you did so-and-so…. ‘you made me do it’. If i say to him how can u be so nasty to your own mother he just screams more. It’s a complete headfck situation. I know that today will not be the last random rage he will orchestrate. we live in a tiny flat and its a nitemare. I’m worried that this may escalate and i will get hurt.

Can a religious charity lend money to its congregations and charge interest on this loan? If so would this disqualify their status or require taxes paid on the profit?
It seems their staff are just making the decisions they want and the public and charities are being conned
The idea should be really good but its being abused.
I was dressing up with some friends in some retro clothes one friend had in her loft. There were some lovely old glamour dresses along with the foundation bras, girdles and petticoats worn on the 40’s and 50’s.
In between changes whilst wearing my panties, a big bra and some big flouncy petticoats. I was grabbed and thrown out the front door my my friends. After a laugh, they let me in the garage and said I could have my clothes back if they could take me for a drive dressed as I was. I suppose this was still pretty funny but then they taped my hands together and drove me into the country. They also fished for my panties and snipped the elastic waist. They got me out the car, took pictures then left me to get home.
After a bit of shouting and swearing, I walked home but lost the panties after a couple of hundred yards as without the elastic they crept down my legs.
They met me on the town boundary so at least I didn’t have to walk in public but the walk in the country was pretty humiliating and I had to hide everytime I heard somewone coming.
I’d like to get them back but can’t think of a good way. I’d like to humiliate them like they did me. If it involves them in petticoats and no underwear, so much the better. Any suggestions?
Just wondering which foundation ppl support here are the ones i support and I’m glad to do so too.

Currently doing a foundation degree in supporting teaching and learning any ideas would be good
I believe I should start donating a significant chunk of money to people who need it a lot worse than I do. But, I would hate the idea of giving away money to be wasted, or used to line the pockets of useless people.
Does anyone know of any good charities, or better yet, of a good method for sorting out the good charities from the bad ones?
I’m really stuck with what I want to do with my life and what job I want.
I have got 3 A Levels and I am going to start an Art foundation at College soon. I would like a job that involves design with travelling, I love to travel and I am very creative. But I don’t know what job would suit me. I was thinking about Advertising within design, like public relations, marketing and market research but don’t really know much about it. I’ve also written a list which includes; online multimedia/ web design, graphic design, graphic illustrator and a freelance designer. Who do you talk to? Does anyone on here have one of these jobs? I’ve been googling creative careers all morning and not much luck..
I am in the process of raising money and awareness for Sick Kids Edinburgh Royal Hospital. (friends foundation)
I have already had a charity night that raised over £350 !
My next event is to walk over the Forth Road Bridge and then back again on June 14th!
I have a ‘just giving’ page
www.justgiving.com / forthroadbridgetrek - 4SickKids
(without the spaces around the dash/slash)
meaning this is completely all for charity, the donations go straight to them passing no one else.
This is the safest way to donate yet no seems to trust it??
Just giving is a major charity site and I am getting a little frustrated that people think I am just conning money!
So the question(s):
1.Does anyone have any ideas to how I can make people relise that this is genuine and so am I?
2.Does anyone have any ideas to get more sponsors?
3. Does anyone have any have dealings with this hospital/charity?
I mean I know the ten commandments pertain predominately to Christianity, but seriously what religion does not agree with sayings from the ten Commandments such as "Thou shall not Kill, Thou shall not commit adultery, Thou shall not steal, and Honor thy Father and Mother? Essentially the ten commandments are the laws of society and the moral foundations our founding fathers layed out for America. Who got rid of the ten commandments in our schools? Why?
Hi. Have tried letters in the press without much success. New UK registered charity is desperate for volunteers so it can pursue its objectives. Do you have experience of recruiting volunteers? If so, how did you find them, and do you have any good ideas for how a charity can appeal for volunteers without needing to spend too much money? Things like posters in local shops won’t really work as we cover the whole UK. Thank you very much.
TO THE SPITEFUL CRITICS BELOW WHO KNOW NOTHING OF OUR CHARITY =
1. ALL our staff are UNPAID volunteers, including our very hard working Charity Director - co-operative community volunteering is our core ethic.
2. We do NOT promote anything r.e. ‘carbon footprint’ i.e. bogus offsetting/trading - we are engaged in active open-minded research to present facts to the public, not hype, not a commercial agenda about Global Warming. We strive to give a balanced view.
3. 100% of our income goes to our objectives & nothing else.
4. We work towards helping disadvantaged people live Greener with practical aid & save/replant rainforest.
PLEASE check your cynical nasty views r.e. charities before spitting them at us, because we DON’T DESERVE YOUR BILE. Thank you.
I’ve just turned 20 and would like to go back into education. I have always had a flair for art (A*) GCSE, but gave it up at A Level (too interested in getting wasted and chasing boys - I know LAME!). My teachers were very upset at my decision and told me that I shouldn’t waste my talent. However, being a pig headed sixteen year old I ignored their advice. I drifted aimlessly through sixth form and ended up with three A Levels (French C, German D, RS D).
My father is willing to support me if I go back into education but I don’t know where to start. Should I do a BTEC in art and design or a Foundation Diploma? I haven’t got any art qualifications beyond GCSE. My drawing skills are a bit rusty but they’re still there. I’m so confused!
How does having one (a conscience) help anyone’s cause?
People who monopolise on your good will and giving nature, maybe?
And not so much the real issues but it looks like they are doing something and your conscience can now feel clear even though this is part of the problem.
I have noticed a rise in charities and adverts that look very sad and anyone would go soft to see the awful conditions humans and pets suffer.
Why not explore the core reasons for the state of affairs and asking more crucial questions why such affairs are thriving?
And not improving?
Despite everyone apparently being so giving with there millions upon millions raised each year for Red Nose Day as an example.
When prevention would be the best cure.
It seems so much interfering from do-gooders merely serves to breed charity management schemes.
Before anyone accuses me of being selfish I have done plenty of voluntary help to O.A.P’s and The Autistic Society.
I have given loads of perfectly good stuff to Brit ‘Heart Foundation, Oxfam, Age Concern, Children’s Hospice etc… as you all most likely have.
All these charities receive public funds from the government too.
Whoever I needed some N.H.S assistance for a problem they could have easily given me help with but NO HELP whatever-so only hindrance.
What are your experiences of people being charitable?
"However" was the word not whoever *tuts*
You see it all the time and how do you know that these people are actually really helping people? Also do you think one charity should not give to another charity is it just a game of passing the buck to make it look like they are helping people when in realality they are not? What are your thoughts on this?
I’m doing some research and I’d like to get hold of examples of real letters that charities send through the post. I’ve been on various websites but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for…any ideas?
what do you guys think of the richest man retiring from the Microsoft, do you think he has done a fantastic job for the world, introducing windows package, xbox, and various forms of technology,
gates has sais that he’ll be giving away million to charity through the Melinda and Bill gates foundation.
It just seems that we should be better educating our students so they are not misguided and oblivious to the foundations of our nation.
Socialism is a fools theory and it seems like an embarrassment that Americans are buying into it.
I say if you support Socialism you are NOT an AMERICAN!
What say you?
r they reliable? is the furniture good? is it cheap?
thanks for your help
At my old cottage, several of my foundation posts need to be replaced. Three of these are about six feet high and two are about two feet high. I have two different conditions of joist support. One foundation is holding up two continous joistes and the other foundation holds up four sets of joistes coming together. I think I can support the first example by lifting two feet away from each side of the foundation using two hydralic jacks, as I will need room to remove and replace the foundation materials. No clue on how to do the other example.
Thanks for any help you might offer.

I’m planning on building two-tier decking in someones back garden that overlooks a field, with a neighbour each side. I’ll be also erecting a trellis roof supported by four brick plinths(damp coursed in the foundations), about six’ high with space inside for seating next to the decking.
My question is, would these structures require building reg approval at any point, like say, if the property were to be sold in the future?
There’s so many flimflam charities where the executives live the highlife and still call their organizations "nonprofit", they throw fancy charity balls with fancy dinners and dancing and I think 0.1 pennies out of a dollar trickles through to the needy.
How can you tell what is what? Thanks and Happy Holidays!
Rubbish English Tutorial Classes
All of the English tutors are rubbish. Don’t waste a second on them. Learn English yourself and you will succeed.
It is disappointed to see 80% of the students taking English tutorial classes. Students are misleaded by advertisement, and affected by peer pressure. In the advertisement, you will see former students getting a distinction or a significant improvement in terms of grade. Does the case represent the majority of the students who takes their tutorial classes? They claim 23A, 145B and 554C, but why don’t tell us they have thousands of D, E and even F? Don’t trust the statistic figure, it is very misleading.
The advertisement will even claim their tips are accurate in public examination. In fact, they just give a lot of passages to you, and only one or two of them are similar to the passage containing in the public examination. I said similar; this word is not accurate; frankly speaking, the two passages may just share the same topic; and then they claim they make accurate tips. I am able to give you accurate tips too. The topics of examination must relate to these several aspects: health, information technology, school life, and global issues. Imagine you are the examiner of HKEA, you can not make the materials in the paper becoming too specific. For example, you will not include an article about Physics, telling Newton first law is a body having a tendency to keep its state of motion unless a net force acting on it, in the exam paper. This is unfair to art and commerce students. The way for HKEA to consider the topics of the passage appearing in the exam is the themes relating to our daily life. They want the make the exam being fair. Therefore, it is needless to study the notes distributed by tutorial school; instead, all you have to do is reading newspaper.
After getting into the tutorial classes (because attracted by those advertisements and amazing statistic figures), the English king/queen will teach you a lot of examination skills. I cannot say examination skills are useless, but I dare to say those skills are only useful to students who is competent in English to a certain level. They may get a B without taking tutorial classes but they get a distinction if they do so. For those who will get a D/E/F/U without taking tutorial classes, you will still get a D/E/F/U after taking tutorial classes. Scoring low marks is not attributed to lack of examination skills, but possesses weak language foundation.
Fabulous stock phrases, fancy vocabulary, and advanced sentence structures containing in the notes are also appealing to students. There is no fault to use difficult vocabulary, unless you are able to use them correctly. Reading the examination reports, every year many students use complicated sentence structures and vocabulary which beyond their ability to handle them successfully. Finally those students get DEFU. A good composition consisted of forcible content and precise language. You are not asked to write a poem; you don’t need to use beautiful vocabulary. The aim of your piece of work should be writing precisely – people are able to get your idea when they read it for the first time.
You cannot improve your listening and speaking skills by attending those tutorial classes. They have limited time to brush up your skills. The only way to improve these skills is to spend a lot of time on listening to radio and watching movie. You will gain a lot in pronunciations, information-processing speed, as well as vocabulary.
Do not waste any time and money on tutorial schools if you want to learn real English. Take the most pragmatic approach to learn English: read newspaper, listen to radio, write English diary, and talk to your friends using English. No pain, no gain.

A for profit company claims to be giving proceeds to charity, but I can’t find the information on the charities 990. I can’t find a foundation for the company on the foundation center website. I want to find out if this is legitimate or schemish. The charity seems to be supporting the claim (atleast one of them does), but something doesn’t seem right.
