It seems their staff are just making the decisions they want and the public and charities are being conned
The idea should be really good but its being abused.
UK charities Archives
Hi. Have tried letters in the press without much success. New UK registered charity is desperate for volunteers so it can pursue its objectives. Do you have experience of recruiting volunteers? If so, how did you find them, and do you have any good ideas for how a charity can appeal for volunteers without needing to spend too much money? Things like posters in local shops won’t really work as we cover the whole UK. Thank you very much.
TO THE SPITEFUL CRITICS BELOW WHO KNOW NOTHING OF OUR CHARITY =
1. ALL our staff are UNPAID volunteers, including our very hard working Charity Director - co-operative community volunteering is our core ethic.
2. We do NOT promote anything r.e. ‘carbon footprint’ i.e. bogus offsetting/trading - we are engaged in active open-minded research to present facts to the public, not hype, not a commercial agenda about Global Warming. We strive to give a balanced view.
3. 100% of our income goes to our objectives & nothing else.
4. We work towards helping disadvantaged people live Greener with practical aid & save/replant rainforest.
PLEASE check your cynical nasty views r.e. charities before spitting them at us, because we DON’T DESERVE YOUR BILE. Thank you.
I’m doing some research and I’d like to get hold of examples of real letters that charities send through the post. I’ve been on various websites but can’t seem to find what I’m looking for…any ideas?
What do you think of buying clothes from charity shops, and also buying supermarkets own brand food?
I am really struggling for money at the moment, so need to REALLY limit the amount that i spend.
What do you think about buying SOME clothes for me and my kids from charity shops?Do you think its skanky, or ok?
The same goes for own brand food from supermarkets?
Which payee takes precedence?

I have several projects in Sri Lanka which i wish to fundraise for I would like to no if it is possible to create my own charity to which bodies can make donations?
I used to work with a colleague who collected the plastic tops from milk bottles on behalf of a charity. He left about a year ago so now I’ve got a years worth of milk bottle tops and don’t know what to do with them.
Does anybody know which charities collect milk bottle tops (or what they do with them)?
We are holding a raffle to raise money for our pre-school and need prizes. Can anyone suggest companies that donate to charity?
Does anyone else find this selfish and annoying?
For instance I was once approached in my local pub by a group of "firefighters" who were going to walk the Great Wall of China for charity. They wanted me to sponsor them, i.e., give them money. When I enquired further I found out that the sponsorship money would pay all their airfares, hotel fees etc and any money LEFT OVER would go to charity.
I think this pattern of behaviour is fairly common, i.e., people doing fairly selfish activities but tying it in with "charity work" in order to get finance. Why don’ they do something nearer home, for instance pick up all the needles in the public park "for charity" or something LESS selfish that would benefit the community?
During these harder times where we are all watching what we spend, have we cut back on supporting charities?
I’m thinking of setting up a charity to buy farm land to let it lay fallow can anybody help?
I want to get good quality second hand clothes. How do I figure out where to go i.e. what area the charity shops are in?
Excuse me, I want to ask : how do I connect with International Charities? How do I send money, gifts to them of become their delegation on other countries? Plesae show me the way to connect to them, through email or forum? Thank you for answering!
A group of us would like to set up a charity for childhood leakeamia sufferers and survivors.
By the way, I live in the UK
I have tried to think of everything, but whatever search engine i use or keywords, this choice does not come up. There doesn’t seem to be a ‘link to us’ section on any charity site.
All i have found so far is a website that offers a form for your site where people can search for charities and it is so badly coded, it doesn’t work properly and you can tell they were thinking of profit not charity.
Thanks in advance
Voting is an example of active citizenship as it’s something that changes many things in our surroundings and it’s very important because it helps us gain new skills and knowledge.
But how is being involved in charity work an example of being an active citizen??
Thanks

We are presently in the process of registering a charity which will assist sexually discriminated communities in countries where homosexuality is illegal or repressed and to place pressure onthese countries to adopt more advanced healthcare initiatives and provide comprehensive awareness to these communities on the risks of HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis and other STDs through liaison and affiliation with existing advocacy groups and other relevant international bodies.
We would like to know where to find free or discounted hosting for charities and non profits.
I have 5 year experience as a finance officer- with a broad range of skills including payroll. I plan to move to Exter and my preference is to work in a charity/ethical company. If anyone can suggest charities, best places to look for ads, agencies etc I’d be very grateful.

I know that the CAI supports Afghanistan and also Krygzstan but I don’t know any other charities
In a charity shop there is a lady that I remember from school. Well, this person would not be likely to work as a volunteer. I was wondering if she could be doing community service? What do You think?
Can anyone tell me of any charities in the UK (preferably in Northern Ireland) who are asking for used stamps.
We get about 5000 letters into the office every week and it would be good to do something worthwhile with the stamps!
I’m in the UK and have a few pairs of old spectacles. I’ve heard there is a charity that recycles the frames by sending them to poor countries.
