Non profits file 990s, what do for profits file and is it public record. Can I find forms for an a for profit.
A for profit company claims to be giving proceeds to charity, but I can’t find the information on the charities 990. I can’t find a foundation for the company on the foundation center website. I want to find out if this is legitimate or schemish. The charity seems to be supporting the claim (atleast one of them does), but something doesn’t seem right.

For profit corporations generally file Form 1120. S-Corps file 1120-S. LLCs and LPs often do not file returns but give K-1 partnership returns that the members file.
These are not public records and if the company is not a public company (reporting to the SEC), you probably won’t get verification.
