I have tried to think of everything, but whatever search engine i use or keywords, this choice does not come up. There doesn’t seem to be a ‘link to us’ section on any charity site.
All i have found so far is a website that offers a form for your site where people can search for charities and it is so badly coded, it doesn’t work properly and you can tell they were thinking of profit not charity.
Thanks in advance
Can i Still do medicine if i got a grade average of B in my gcses? i hear that they like you to have majority of a*s and a*s, im 16, currently doing a-levels in chemistry biology english and psychology, and i go to a state comprehensive school. basically im writing up a project on Bill Gates and Microsoft, and part of it is on Criticisms of The charity he founded.
the sentence that i want to correct is about the fact that the charity gives money to ethnic minorities, ( egsomething like 1m to the United Negro College fund) but it doesnt give any to white/american people. how can i phrase that in a "politically correct" way without being patronising?
and im fairly sure its true as its on Wikipedia
and yes i am aware that im putting in a small sentence about a relatively small amount that goes to americans but it is quite controversial that so little goes to causicans dont you think?
Like one for cancer with kids, a sub-branch of like childrens miracle network or something. And eventually become a charity of its own? Would that work? Like partnering up for a while and do funds and stuff for the bigger company until the charity can make it on its own…thanks
Sort of like, if you have facebook, you can make a ’cause’ page thing and people can donate money that goes to either you or a bigger charity that the cause is supporting, could I make something like that but official?
I am thinking of doing skydiving for charity and was wondering if there are lists online of charities so I can chose which one I want to fundraise for.
Im particularly interested in charities in Northern Ireland as that is where I am from.
Many thanks for any help
Please tell me
a) The name of the charity
b) What you know of where the money goes
Thank you
So far, some very interesting answers, thank you
I am not very good at the explaining bit, but so far what I have done is:
Lift items such as beds and wardrobes as well as small items such as coffee tables.
Stay on the shop floor and help with sales
Go out onto the street and try and get people to donate £1 in return for a BHF badge and sticker (this stickers etc. are mainly for the kids, but the adults wear it also!)
Minor things such as make coffee, put out the rubbish and photocopy papers.
I’ve written it as:
I provide help to the charity 4 (should it be written as 4 or four on a CV?) days a week. I have been on the shop floor assisting with sales and customer service as well as working in the stock room lifting items such beds and wardrobes.
How can I improve it?
I’d like to start donating money to a charity that focuses on Africa or the Middle East but want to make sure that the money I donate is accounted for and goes directly to the family. My friend in Denmark contributes to a charity where the sponsor child and family writes to tell you what the money was spent on. Does something like this exist in the US, and is it credible? Thanks
I have 5 year experience as a finance officer- with a broad range of skills including payroll. I plan to move to Exter and my preference is to work in a charity/ethical company. If anyone can suggest charities, best places to look for ads, agencies etc I’d be very grateful.
My husband and I recently got new cell phones and I would like to donate our used/old cell phones to a good charity that would make use of it. I’d like one that’s both legitimate and efficient.
I’ve seen different sites for abuse victims, soldiers and seniors. I think these are all good causes, but I’m looking to get advice on *which* charities - since they each seem to have several options - are the best and most effective to donate to.
Does anyone have any advice?
The Making Memories Foundation is having a charity wedding gown sale called "Brides Against Breast Cancer" in Los Angeles in March and looking for ways to spread the word to news media and the public.
Thanks for advice/help.

I know that I can split the cost of aircraft rental, fuel costs, etc with other people i am flying. But how does flying for charity work. I don’t think I can make money by flying for charity. Is it possible for the organization to pay for all of the plane rental and fuel costs?
Also I will be getting my private pilots license soon, and do any of you know any charitable organizations that I can fly for to gain hours without spending all of my money. Specifically around southwestern Connecticut and new york city. Thanks
I’m in the UK and have a few pairs of old spectacles. I’ve heard there is a charity that recycles the frames by sending them to poor countries.
we are having a charity fun day on the 19th August in memory of a young girl who died of a brain tumor money raised will go to the Joshua Foundation for terminally ill children as a voluntary group we need all the support we can get any other equipment would be good, also to make a great day for the kids of our estate.
I would like to keep in localized to North Carolina, but any good charity would be suitable. We are a club in high school that wants to volunteer and donate to charities, but want to support the smaller ones!
Ex Scotland, now in New Zealand. 66 yrs old. Seek sponsors to enable me to do charity walk around Britain. Over 4000 kms - 5 months. In aid of Brit. Heart Foundation.
I had quad. heart bypass 1977 - wish to make contribution. On superannuation. Have airfare only. Need about 14000 pounds.
Possible English friend, also quad. bypass, will walk with me.
I’m writing book on this, and proceeds from it, if any, to go to N Z Heart Foundation. Email tkr0013@iconz.co.nz if you want a pdf copy of draft of book so far. It’s a bit humourous (I hope) and has maps of planned route and tentative stop places.
Anyone wanting to walk part or all with me most welcome, more so if you can help raise funds.
David.
I keep all the postage stamps that I get on letters and I save them as there used to be a place nearly where I lived (a newsagents) that people could take them to and they passed them on to a certain charity. The shop is no longer open but I have continued to save all the postage stamps from letters I receive. Does anybody know of a charity that takes them - I’m in the UK? Very grateful for any contacts you can give me - thanks!
That should read near where I live not nearly.
I feel I am becoming paranoid. The Salvation Army came round collecting and I actually hesitated before donating to a Charity that I have supported for many years. I appreciate that a percentage of my money goes to things like administration etc but I have given time and money to many ‘good causes’. I am now looking for the ‘hidden agenda’. Is the collector genuine, what is the catch? Do you think that reputable Charities like the NSPCC, PDSA the superb Salvation Army etc or even the wonderful kind hearted ‘pub collections’ for genuine causes will miss out due to recent events? I actually felt so awful for feeling so mean I gave more than I would have done normally and the gentleman said "bless you" which made me feel even worse. What are your views?
Guy U - that is probably what I mean, I have never questioned before. I have, unfortunately, seen the McMillan Nurses in action, I can never repay what they did for my mother, without them I have no idea how I would have coped so I support them 100% but like I say I have never before questioned any ‘reputable’ collections before.
I noticed even the Movie Stars have Charities they like to promote, and they are not afraid to say so.
So will you say what charity that you help at holiday time, or maybe just any time you want to give them some added help?
Wondering what are the most popular charities that people around the UK enjoy supporting. Looking specifically for national charities which have a local prescence or local influences across the UK. Does not matter what the charity supports.
I do not believe in abortion but do think that we need to control our population. I can’t find any charities to donate to which don’t do abortion, but do do birth control. I am in the UK, but would be happy to support such a charity based anywhere. Can anyone help?
Last year I found a website for a charity that basically "purchased" mosquito nets, water, blankets, etc with the donations. So, you knew exactly what the charity could get with the money. I didn’t have the money last year, but I do this year and would like to donate in my family’s name for Christmas presents. Basically, saying each member bought a mosquito net for a needy family or something like that. Where can I find a charity that does something like this??
british heart foundation left a charity bag at my house but because of an appointment i forgot to put it out i have a lot of stuff for them to take does anyone know whether they do unschedueld collections and how i go about arranging this
My mother-in-law wants to give to charity on our behalf for the holidays. My husband and I want the charity dollars to go to either the Humane Society or a children’s cause. My mother-in-law wants the dollars to go to her church. What is the correct procedure on this?
which animal charities do you support?
and in what way do you support them?
Why do you support this particular charity?
Thank you for all your answers and for helping animals in need.
All the charities you support sound like they are doing a really good job helping animals.
